Blending and Type Effects

River Rocks
Idaho Falls, 9/24/11, 2p.m. - f/4.5, 1/1250 - Canon PowerShot SX130IS

Sunlight
Shelley, ID, 9/24/11, 10:30a.m. - f/7.1, 1/1250 - Canon PowerShot SX130IS

I blended these two images by dragging the rocks on top of the sky photo.  Then I reduced the opacity giving it a more river water and see through look.  I wanted it too look like a reflection in water as well as a photo of the sky.

Tall Flower
Rexburg, 9/23/11, 4p.m. - f/4.5, 1/800 - Canon PowerShot SX130IS

I made two text boxes with the type tool and repeated text in different fonts and opacities.  Then I added a mask to both of those text boxes and used the black eraser to decrease the brightness (opacity) of parts of the wording on the picture.   After that I added a thicker bolder font on top that stood out from the rest.

Bike
Idaho Falls, 9/23/11, 6p.m. - f/3.4, 1/80 - Canon Powershot SX130IS

I really like blue eyes so I decided to use blue for my color study.  I did two pictures with a shallow depth of field (large aperture) by using a smaller number and I got one deep depth of field by increasing the number (small aperture).  I wanted a lot of variety, so I went to different places and took pictures of completely different things and objects.

Cutouts

Cameron
8/11/2011, 2:45p.m. - Wichita, KS - f/3.5, 1/125 - Nikon Coolpix S3000

I brightened and added some contrast to the picture first and then proceeded to add a white layer.  I outlined the part I wanted cutout with the quick selection tool and then I moved the cut out onto the white layer. After that I refined the edges by smoothing them out as well as adding a slight shadow.

I just took a picture of my car and once again added some brightness and contrast.  I used the same technique to cut it out with layers and at the end I refined the edges to smooth them out a bit.
