Final Poster Print

Bannack Vibrance
Bannack, 10.20.11, 5p.m. - f/4.0, 1/320 - Canon Powershot SX130, 24x36 print size

I chose this image because I really loved the overall beauty and vibrance of the picture.  I thought the colors were absolutely stunning.  This photo is HDR and after I did that I did some brightness and contrast in camera raw with an adjustment brush.  I also made the photo a bit sharper in photoshop.

These were the three original pictures that I blended together in HDR.  The were all 2 exposures apart.

Night and Light

1. Blurred Lights:
Light Streak

2. Light Sketching:

Happiness

My name backwards
Idaho Falls, my living room, 11.2.11, 9:30 - f/3.4, 4 sec - Canon Powershot SX130, Tripod

written love
Idaho Falls, my living room, 11.2.11, 9:30 - f/3.4, 4 sec - Canon Powershot SX130, Tripod

These were a lot of fun because you can pretty much write any kind of message or draw absolutely anything with light! Words were hard to write though, because you have to learn to write backwards and do it fast.  This is now my husbands new hobby, he was a lot of help on this project!

3. Camera Motion:
Star
Idaho Falls, my house, 11.4.11, 8:00 - f/8.0, 4sec - Canon Powershot SX130

Edwards Theater
Idaho Falls, 11.5.11, 9p.m. - f/8.0, .3 sec - Canon Powershot SX130

It is amazing how lights create these lines and shapes just by holding the light in place and moving your camera around.

4. Light Painting:
Decoration
Idaho Falls, my house, 11.4.11, 8:30 - f/4.5, 3.2sec - Canon Powershot SX130, Tripod

Swirls
Idaho Falls, my house, 11.4.11, 8:30 - f/4.0, 5sec - Canon Powershot SX130, Tripod

I took a lot of these to get it just right and to get a cool effect on the second one.  I used a small white flash light and a red laser pointer to make these.  I think they turned out really pretty.

Edit: Fine Art Template

These were really easy to make.  I drew a black rectangle and hit opt-cmd-t to bring up the transform options.  After that I held shift and dragged the rectangle to the side.  I pressed enter to lock it and then proceeded to hit shift-opt-cmd-t three more times.  Once I had the five rectangles aligned I inserted an image that I had made the same size as the template.  I dragged the image over the top of the page and then right clicked on the image layer and chose clipping mask......and wal-ah! I love these templates.  I think they are so fun and look really professional at the same time.
